Good afternoon all,
Local community policing is a huge priority for us in the Met and the bedrock of how we police London. Over the last year we have seen the results of that, with strong reductions across the city in crimes like robbery, bike theft, and burglary. As your local DWO I thought it was a good opportunity to let you know the sorts of things your neighbourhood policing team will be doing this week.
These are just some of the things we will be doing this week but are examples of some of the work we do every day. Your neighbourhood team is embedded in your community and works around the clock to keep you safe. The range of issues we deal with is vast, from petty theft to sexual offences and violence. We operate alongside ‘response teams’, who are the officers who turn up in an emergency if you dial 999.
Our key priority is to deliver precise and collaborative community fighting through problem solving. By working with our key stakeholders, we can identify the origins of crime and work with groups like the local council or businesses on creative ways to address them.
Thank you for staying in touch with us on Met Engage. We are here to help you - if there are issues that you think need to be addressed, please let us know.
Many thanks
Nine Elms SNT
